Reception Class News!

What a busy half term we have had in Reception! All the children have settled in wonderfully. They have become familiar with routines and are enjoying new challenges. We have learnt lots about Ourselves, Our Senses and Autumn time. Children are quickly learning letter sounds and beginning to apply these within reading and writing activities.

Our topic next half term will be ‘Sparkle and Shine’. We will be focusing on lots of festivals and celebrations. There will also be lots of spooky Halloween activities during our first week back and the Halloween disco to look forward to.

Reception Curriculum Evening 2018

A date has now been decided for our annual Reception Curriculum evening. It will take place on Wednesday 26th October 2018 at 6:00pm in school. The evening is a chance for you to learn a little about how phonics and reading are taught and we also aim to give you little insight into the Early Years Curriculum. Please feel free to join us, we look forward to seeing you.

Friday 21st September 2018

On Friday we will be experiencing our first visit to our school library. The children will learn about how we use our library and have the opportunity to have a look at some of the books they will be able to borrow. Our Library day is Friday, so please make sure library books are returned each week, so everyone can choose a new book to take home. There is also an award each week for the class who remembers all of their books! The children will be taught how to look after our books and how valuable to us they are. Enjoy reading your new library book over the weekend.
