Sports Premium Funding
We have spent most of the money we got from the government to improve P.E. in schools on a sports coach who has been up-skilling our staff whilst at the same time teaching our children.
We also spent some money this year on a mile a day foot print trail

Sports coach to provide games sessions for breakfast club – develop according to children.

Children are receiving specialist coaching from the sports coach once a week during breakfast club. Some of the games and strategies he has used have already been adopted by the breakfast club staff and are now employed on other days. |
To provide a dance teacher for the whole school

To deliver street dance. Within the sessions we will aim to develop children’s co-ordination, routine retention, self-confidence and performance skills.

To provide after school club sessions for gifted and talented pupils |
To deliver high quality coaching for gifted and talented pupils through focused sessions, including football and athletics.

Since the introduction of the sports coach and free sessions after school, there has been a 100% take up of the sessions, with a waiting list of children each time. Entry into all Darwen Association competitions. Use of external facilities and resources.

School takes part in competitive sports across Blackburn with Darwen. This includes entering teams for: swimming, football, netball, cricket, rounders and athletics. This has increased children's participation in competitive sports dramatically since its introduction. |
