Literacy:

Think of new ideas for your own version of the story. Fill in the table with two new characters, two new settings and two new ideas for a memento.

 

Maths:

Complete the long multiplication worksheet with 2-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers.

Literacy:

Using your ideas from yesterday, complete the story map template, with your new version of the story.

Write out your new version of the story. Remember to write in paragraphs, add description and speech.

 

Maths:

Read the 3-digit long multiplication word problems and answer the questions.

 

If you think they are too difficult for you, then complete the 2 digit long multiplication word problems instead.

Topic:

Read the facts sheet about Hatshepsut and then answer the three questions at the bottom of the sheet. You may use the internet to help you.

PE:

On YouTube find today’s lesson with Joe Wicks. It will be dated Monday 18th January.

PSHE:

Complete the jobs, skills and training worksheet. You can use the internet to help you research different jobs.

Spellings/Times tables:

Practice List 2 spellings and complete the sheet with the missing letters.

 

Press start on a timer and see how fast you can complete the times table grid on the worksheet “Beat the clock Week 3”.

RE:

Draw the symbols of each religion in the correct position on the peace symbol.

Then research what the 6 religious symbols mean or represent.

 

Computing:

Learn to type using the correct finger positions. Type as many words as you can within 2 minutes.

 

Thursday 21st January

Literacy: Reading

This week we are looking at making comparisons. Read the text carefully and answer the questions. Each question will ask you to find a similarity or a difference. Some questions will also ask your opinion about the text. Answer each question with detail and quote the text where appropriate.

 

Maths: Converting hours and minutes

Answer the questions on converting hours, minutes and seconds. Read and answer each question carefully. Some answers will need a clear explanation.

French: Colours

Look through the powerpoint and click on the little orange play buttons to hear the pronunciation of each colour in French.

Your task is to colour the rainbow looking correctly at the colour in French. Or you can draw your own rainbow and label each colour in French.

Literacy: Grammar

This week we are looking at commas. Commas are used for various reasons. This lesson, I would like you to add the commas in the correct places in each sentence and then explain why you have chosen to use it. E.g. it may be to separate items in a list or it might be because there is speech.

 

Maths: Converting minutes, seconds and hours

Answer the questions and solve problems by converting times. You will need to show your working out for some questions and you will need to explain your reasons for others. Use the maths you have been working on in the last few lessons.

Science: Geocentric vs heliocentric

Read through the information on the powerpoint again to help you fully understand what geocentric and heliocentric are.

Your task is to research and find out more about Nicholaus Copernicus and his theories. Use the internet to find out more and complete the task sheet with your information.

Art: Create your own dancing figure in the style of Matisse. Try not draw any outlines. Cut out shapes and lay them on a sheet, place them all before you stick them down.
