Darwen Rotary club are again sponsoring a Dragon Egg Decoration event, which our school thoroughly enjoyed taking part in last year. The event is part of local St George’s Day celebrations.
The finished eggs will be displayed in the market hall annex in Darwen on Saturday 27th April, where they will be judged.
There will be three trophy prizes, 1st. 2nd and 3rd.
Anybody wishing to keep their eggs can collect them straight after the event, otherwise they will be disposed of. The eggs wont be coming back to school sadly.
Tonight, you will have seen that your child has brought a blank egg home, which they can decorate and return to school on Friday 5th April. Due to the Easter holiday, the Rotary club are collecting our eggs before we finish for the holidays. Please note, that once the Rotary club have collected our eggs on Friday morning (5th April), any late entries will not be included in the display in town or judged as part of the competition.
How children decorate their eggs is entirely up to them. Last year there was a big variety of designs used, there is no right or wrong way to do it. Good luck to everyone!
